How we verify a tub is in the room·The same figure for every city and state
November to March is when a private tub in Grimes is the reason to book rather than a nice extra — January nights average 13°F and the average high stays at or below 60°F. At the other end, by July the average high is 85°F, which is patio weather rather than hot-tub weather. Figures are NOAA 1991–2020 normals from DES MOINES WSFO-JOHNSTON, IA US, 7km away.

How the 20 most-visited spots within 15km of our Grimes listings break down by type.
Across the 29 verified stays here, listed rates run $69–$425 a night before tax and cluster near $97. Super 8 by Wyndham Altoona is the lowest we've confirmed, at $69. The bottom of that range is a standard room with a jetted bath; the top is a suite built around the tub.
Wildwood Lodge Clive, at 9.4/10 from 1,355 guest reviews. Drury Inn & Suites West Des Moines follows at 9.4 from 965 reviews. Our list puts private tubs (in the room or on a private patio) first, then shared hotel spas. Within each group, hotels with strong scores from many guests, more photos, and a tub we've seen in their own photos rank higher. Listings with very few reviews or photos sit at the bottom of their group.
27 of the 29 stays we list in Grimes, IA are tagged in-room jacuzzi or jetted tub. 5 are shared hotel spas — labelled that way, never sold as in-room. Another 2 listings here didn't survive the photo check.
Wyndham, Radisson, Hilton and Best Western all have verified tub rooms in Grimes. The other 7 are independents.
6 of the 29 verified stays in Grimes, IA have a jetted whirlpool tub in the room, and 21 more have another kind of private in-room tub. "Whirlpool", "jacuzzi" and "jetted tub" all describe the same thing — a tub with jets — so hotels use them interchangeably. What they don't tell you is whether it's a jetted tub or a plain deep soaking tub with no jets at all, which is the distinction we check and label.
