Home/Hotels with a private outdoor hot tub
Hotels with a private outdoor hot tub
Stays where the hot tub is outside and it belongs to your room — a balcony, a private patio, a deck off the cabin. This is the opposite of the tub on the pool deck that everyone shares, and hotels describe both with the same three words, so every stay here is tagged for a private outdoor tub specifically.

How is this different from a hotel that just has a hot tub?
Most hotels advertising a hot tub mean one tub by the pool, shared with everyone staying that night and usually closing around 10pm. A private outdoor tub is attached to your room — on its balcony, patio or deck — and nobody else uses it. Same phrase in the listing, completely different stay, which is why we tag the two separately.
Can you use an outdoor hot tub in winter?
That is when they are best, and it is the reason mountain properties build them. The water sits at 38–40°C regardless of the air temperature, so cold air is part of the appeal rather than a problem. The genuine winter constraint is the walk between room and tub — a balcony tub is fine in February, one at the end of a garden path less so.
Is the tub screened from other rooms?
It varies more than anything else on this page. Some balcony tubs are properly enclosed, others are overlooked by the rooms above. Photographs are the only reliable guide, so each listing shows the actual tub in its actual setting rather than a marketing shot — check what is behind and above it.
Are these more expensive than an in-room jacuzzi?
Usually, yes. A private outdoor tub tends to be a feature of cabins, chalets and resort suites rather than standard hotel rooms, so it comes attached to a larger unit. If the tub matters more than the square footage, an in-room jetted tub is generally the cheaper way to get one.
