“The view from our balcony was absolutely phenomenal. This was our first time visiting Lake George, and we could not have asked for a better experience. The shower/jacuzzi bathtub combination was one of the worst design ideas we have experienced in any lodge, hotel, motel, etc., in our almost 39 years of marriage, or even prior to being married.”

How we verify a tub is in the room·The same figure for every city and state
October to April is when a private tub in Dorset is the reason to book rather than a nice extra — January nights average 8°F and the average high stays at or below 60°F. October is also the wettest month at 5.2 inches, which makes the case twice. At the other end, by July the average high is 75°F, which is patio weather rather than hot-tub weather. Figures are NOAA 1991–2020 normals from PERU, VT US, 15km away.

How the 20 most-visited spots within 15km of our Dorset listings break down by type.
Across the 50 verified stays here, listed rates run $71–$543 a night before tax and cluster near $158. Clarion Inn & Suites at The Outlets of Lake George is the lowest we've confirmed, at $71. The bottom of that range is a standard room with a jetted bath; the top is a suite built around the tub.
The Wilmington Inn, at 9.9/10 from 478 guest reviews. Inn on Putney Road Bed and Breakfast follows at 9.8 from 849 reviews. Our list puts private tubs (in the room or on a private patio) first, then shared hotel spas. Within each group, hotels with strong scores from many guests, more photos, and a tub we've seen in their own photos rank higher. Listings with very few reviews or photos sit at the bottom of their group.
44 of the 50 stays we list in Dorset, VT are tagged in-room jacuzzi or jetted tub. 3 are shared hotel spas — labelled that way, never sold as in-room.
Holiday Inn, Hampton, Wyndham and Clarion all have verified tub rooms in Dorset. The other 35 are independents.
2 of the 50 verified stays in Dorset, VT have a jetted whirlpool tub in the room, and 42 more have another kind of private in-room tub. "Whirlpool", "jacuzzi" and "jetted tub" all describe the same thing — a tub with jets — so hotels use them interchangeably. What they don't tell you is whether it's a jetted tub or a plain deep soaking tub with no jets at all, which is the distinction we check and label.
Under $150: 21 stays ($71–$146), e.g. Farm Road Estate. $150–$249: 18 stays ($156–$249), e.g. The Wilmington Inn. $250 and up: 6 stays ($250–$543), e.g. Inn on Putney Road Bed and Breakfast.
