Tubers drift down the Portneuf River all summer, floating past a waterslide park that pulls families off I-15 for the day. Main Street is short and walkable, a few cafes and shops between the riverbank and the geothermal pools the town takes its name from. Lava Hot Springs, ID is a short list: 4 stays where the tub is confirmed from photos, from $122 a night. 4 of the 4 are independents rather than chains. Most also include free parking and free Wi-Fi.
