The location was spectacular. We purposely chose it for its distance from Providence Station, all the restaurants around the area, and sites to see. It was awesome getting to leave our car at home to save money on parking. And the deep, rich colors of the hotel really made it feel so vintage and cool. If you're a Wes Anderson fan, you want this place. Once we got to our room, that's where the experience dipped a bit. There were no drawers to put away our things, even though there were drawer pulls in the furniture and what looked like a built-in dresser. Our bathroom door also didn't close, most likely due to the humidity, but when I took a shower, the steam set off the smoke alarm located JUST outside the bathroom door. And because the door was right next to the toilet, you had to hold the door closed to even use the restroom. Mostly first-world problems, but definitely not what I would expect for the price.

Big comfortable room, friendly staff, very convenient to College Hill and Downcity Room decor is working too hard to be clever. Felt like AI spat out "artsy room design". That said, my teenage kid liked it. Bathroom smelled badly of mildew. When I mentioned it, the office offered a deep cleaning. Instead, what I got was housekeeping sprayed the room with so much air freshener you could almost taste it. And when it dissipated the mildew smell was back. I was also surprised that housekeeping never made the beds or did any housekeeping at all outside of the air freshener. The room had a separate bedroom and sofa bed in the living area. My kids prefer their own space, so we requested an additional bed and the hotel was more than happy to accommodate. Great location, easy walking distance to the station, shopping centre and local restaurants. There was no option to include breakfast, but the hotel does have a restaurant and cafe off the lobby where you can purchase this at an additional cost.
