The room was old, dark, and outdated. The couches were rather gross with stains, and you can see that the Jacuzzi tub had produced some water damage more than a couple times over the years. The Jacuzzi tub had peeled and been damaged and instead of replacing the tub, it's been colored in and painted over. The carpet was vacuumed but hadn't been cleaned in over decade. The bathtub in the bathroom had a weird black mildew in the bottom, and the exhaust fan was literally hanging out of the ceiling by the wiring inside. And the AC unit worked enough to get the humidity out of the air but the room never got very cool. In other words, the basic cleaning functions were being done: vacuuming, dusting, and laundry. But the over all deep cleaning and upkeep has been severely neglected. The building reeked like smoke, dust, and mold, and is being held together by scotch tape and permanent marker "fixes" just to keep it functional. - this is exactly what I expected. Considering the location, I expected to over pay for a shit hole, and that's exactly what I did. Additionally there was no Continental breakfast. The only breakfast item that was available was a mini bagel. - definitely a disappointment there. Considering I just needed somewhere to get away for a night and clear my mind, this room did the trick. I would come again for the same purpose. But if I'm ever looking for somewhere nice, inviting, or visually appealing, this would not be in the running of choices.
