There was an element of REAL to this hotel that is utterly absent from the local chain motels that feel plastic-y, faux, corporate. This Howard Johnson's was NOT that. It was genuinely CLEAN (not superficially), everything worked and it was quiet. It's not that I didn't like it, but it's not a cookie cutter perfect hotel. The exterior and some of the common interior spaces seem a little eclectic but that is part of its charm. So I can't really say I didn't like it, but I did observe that it might need a few repairs to the common spaces. Room was great, again SUPER CLEAN.

The location was near highways, restaurants, and other shopping establishments. My bed was comfortable; I slept well. Parking was a bit cramped, and some property and room upgrades are needed.

I like it, but it’s just this time around that I noticed that the shower wasn’t clean at all, but I used some soft scrub and clean the bottom of the tub a little so I can stand in it.
