The Chateau at Lake La Quinta

The location/setting is beautiful. There were lots of patio tables overlooking the water, and patio furniture at the lower level near the water. Our room was very nice and our balcony also overlooked the water. Truly a unique setting in the desert. There were lots of little things that added up. The restaurant is nothing special. Breakfast was the same every day. Hours were supposed to be 7:30 - 9:30 am, we got there at 7:30 because we had to leave for golf at 8, but the staff starts bringing out stuff at 7:30, and was still bringing out items at 7:45. Dining room floor was dusty and lots of crumbs the first day we were there for breakfast. To-go cups were out but no stirrers for the coffee. Toast was out but jelly didn't come out until 10 minutes later. Hard boiled eggs came out, and later salt and pepper. When guests finished eating on

Loved the rooms, restaurant area, outside patio, and just about everything about the Chateau. My only disappointment was that my sister ordered a bottle of Champagne be sent to our room for our anniversary, and if she hadn't messaged me asking if we received it, we never would have known. I called the front desk and they apologized for the staff miscommunication and sent over a screw top bottle of sparkling wine - not exactly what she envisioned sending I'm sure. Otherwise, everything was very good.

Great view of lake. Location very central, walking distance to retail. Eventually got internet sitting by the front desk using their password. No internet accessible in room 204. Felt a bit like a motel as we were in the annexe. TV didn't work due to no internet connection. Breakfast pretty basic, boiled eggs tasted rubbery, frozen then thawed? Resort fee charged but not sure for what amenities. Car parking? Chateau associations a bit contrived,

Was pleasantly surprised as I had not heard of the property before. Beautiful setting and tucked away, yet close to lots of retail and restraurants. For some reason the bathroom light switch was not working, so the light stayed on all the time. I just closed the door, but light could be fixed.

The location was nice - right next to the mountains and on a lake. The WiFi was not working and the toilet in our room was loose (it rocked). We were supposed to be discounted for the inconvenience but I haven’t seen anything yet.
