I loved everything about the property. The breakfast was excellent, and the egg frittata was especially delicious. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were amazingly friendly, welcoming, and professional. Everyone made the experience feel warm, comfortable, and cozy from the moment I arrived. Definitely come back in a heart beat! Location is amazing really close to downtown area. I love how chic the hotel is! It truly need exceeded my expectations on it. Love their lobby shops and how beautifully designed with the decor and overall the entire property. I stayed in Room 21, which was overall great. One thing I noticed was that there were a few flies in the bathroom during my stay. It seemed like there wasn't much ventilation, although I may have needed to open the window. I would absolutely book here again in a heartbeat. However, I did notice some mildew around the bathroom sink area (near the bottle on the far left) and on the shower door. It was visible and had a noticeable odor. I should mention that I work in real estate/property management, so I tend to notice small maintenance details that others might overlook. We absolutely loved the location and overall vibe of Hotel Joaquin—it's the perfect spot in Laguna Beach with that dreamy, retro-cool charm that makes you feel relaxed and transported. The hotel feels cozy and intimate, like a stylish hideaway from the past. Best of all, it's incredibly walkable: just steps to beautiful Shaw's Cove beach for snorkeling or relaxing, easy hikes in the nearby hills, or strolls into town. This is exactly the kind of place we'd want to retire to—pure Laguna magic! To be fully transparent, there were a couple of small issues during our stay: the WiFi in the room was quite unreliable (working only about 20% of the time), which was inconvenient given the poor cell service in the area. Also, the bathroom light switch wasn't functioning, so the light stayed on and we had to keep the door closed at night. These were minor hiccups in an otherwise wonderful experience, but worth mentioning for anyone considering a stay.
