Forest Suites Resort at Heavenly Village

We had an enjoyable stay at Forest Suites Resort. The location is excellent—quiet, yet close to restaurants, shops, and other attractions. Our room had a nice view of the mountains and the gondola, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The one-bedroom suite was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Although the building is older, it has been remodeled and was generally pleasant. We also appreciated the complimentary wine, which was a nice touch. The weekday rates were very reasonable and offered good value for the location. The room did not look exactly like the photos on the website. The photos make the rooms appear newer and more updated than they actually are. The breakfast was decent, but it would be much better if they offered waffles, pancakes, or both. I also noticed several maintenance issues. Some of the caulking and repair work looked unfinished, and many of the doors and cabinet doors squeaked. These are small issues, but they can be annoying, especially at night. Finally, the weekend rates can be quite expensive, and at those prices I don't think the property provides the same level of value. Overall,

Following are some opportunities for improvement: We appreciated the breakfast and I would suggest adding fresh made oatmeal (not packets) with walnuts, dried cranberries, raisins, and almonds for toppings. The coffee was weak and lacked flavor. Recommend improving the coffee blend and more precise preparation. We appreciated with happy hour but were disappointed that the snacks did not include the cheese and crackers pictured on the hotel's online marketing.
