8 Crazy Things to Do in Las Vegas for Couples

By Claire Bennett, co-founder at Hotel Hot Tubs

There are plenty of crazy things to do in Las Vegas for couples, but the most memorable dates aren't necessarily the most expensive or extreme. My two favorites here are SlotZilla and Omega Mart: one sends you flying above Fremont Street, while the other turns a trip through a supermarket into several hours of exploring. Both give you something to do together, without taking over the entire day.

One distinction is worth making before buying tickets. Some of these experiences are genuinely shared, while others involve taking turns. You can't jump off The STRAT holding hands, and two people can't share one excavator at Dig This. That doesn't make either a bad date, but it does change the experience you're paying for.

I prefer one main activity, dinner and an evening that doesn't require another reservation. A room with a private tub makes that last part particularly appealing. If that sounds like your kind of night, compare Las Vegas hotels with in-room hot tubs, paying attention to the room category rather than just the hotel name.

Which experience suits the two of you?

SlotZilla is a short ride that fits easily into a downtown evening. Omega Mart needs a few hours, while Dig This involves a much larger commitment of money. Before reserving two machines, make sure both of you actually want to operate one.

Eight unusual dates at a glance. Time allowances are planning suggestions unless an operator's duration is stated. Transfers and queues take additional time.

Published prices were checked on October 25, 2026. These are starting prices, so check the total for your date, including taxes, fees and extras.

  1. 1. Fly over Fremont Street at SlotZilla

Choose it for: A short, dramatic ride before a downtown night out.
    Location: Fremont Street Experience.

What I like about SlotZilla is that the setting is part of the ride. You're above the crowds but still beneath Fremont Street's canopy, with the street unfolding below. The lower Zip Line is a seated, three-block ride from 77 feet. The higher Zoom Line covers five blocks from 11 stories, with riders lying belly-down and head first.

The Zoom Line is my choice for the flying sensation, although the seated version may be a better fit if one of you finds that position too exposed. Both are high above the street. Each person needs a separate ticket and harness, and staff should confirm whether you can join the same launch.

The published starting prices are $98 for two seated rides Monday through Thursday or $110 Friday through Sunday. Two Zoom Line rides start at $138 or $150 respectively, before applicable extras.

Participation limits are 50-300 pounds for the seated ride, 80-300 pounds for the Zoom Line and a maximum height of 6 feet 8 inches for both. Ask the operator about harness fit or access needs before paying.

  2. 2. Follow the strange clues at Omega Mart

Choose it for: A playful indoor date without a high-speed ride.
Location: AREA15, west of the Strip.

Omega Mart begins with grocery-store shelves full of products that don't quite make sense, then opens into rooms and installations tied together by a fictional mystery. I like how much there is to discuss as you explore. It's a particularly good date if you enjoy noticing small details and coming up with competing explanations for them.

Allow two or three hours. You can follow the story closely or simply explore the spaces, although the visit works better when both people are happy with the pace. Someone determined to investigate every clue may want much longer than someone mainly interested in the installations.

Meow Wolf's visitor information distinguishes daytime admission from Night Shift, a separately ticketed event for guests 21 and older with valid photo identification. A late entry isn't automatically adults-only.

Eat beforehand if you're hungry, since Omega Mart has a no-reentry policy. Other AREA15 attractions also require separate purchases unless your ticket explicitly includes them.

  3. 3. Drive your own excavators at Dig This

Choose it for: A hands-on splurge with a genuinely different skill to try.
Location: Off the Strip; arrange transportation to the operator's yard.

Dig This is expensive, but it offers something quite different from watching a show or getting on a ride. You're operating real heavy equipment, with an instructor talking you through the controls over a headset. I enjoyed the practical challenge of it. The Big Dig Excavator session includes digging, moving large tires and excavator basketball.

This works best when both people enjoy learning a skill. Each needs a separate machine, and the operator doesn't allow one Big Dig to be split between two people. Book the same time slot if you want to participate alongside each other.

The 90-minute Big Dig Excavator session starts at $359 per person, or $718 for two, before applicable charges and transport. That includes a 15-minute briefing, 60 minutes operating and a 15-minute graduation.

Closed-toe shoes and the ability to understand English-language instruction are required, but a driver's license and construction experience aren't. If only one of you wants to drive, ask about spectator arrangements instead of paying for a second session.

  4. 4. Take turns on SkyJump at The STRAT

Choose it for: The partner who actively wants an extreme-height experience.
    Location: The STRAT tower.

SkyJump involves a controlled, cable-guided descent from The STRAT, but there's still a moment when you have to step off the tower yourself. That is why I would only recommend it to someone who already wants to jump. A date shouldn't become an exercise in persuading the other person to do something frightening.

SkyJump takes one jumper at a time, so there is no tandem option. One person can watch from the designated area by the landing pad while the other takes a turn.

The operator quotes roughly 35-45 minutes including preparation and checks. Bring valid identification and review the current weight, harness and weather restrictions. The minimum height is 52 inches.

Under the published cancellation policy, backing out after paying doesn't earn a cash refund. If either of you is uncertain, leave the jump optional and choose something else to do together.

  5. 5. See the Strip from a helicopter after dark

Choose it for: A short, memorable splurge with a city view.
Location: Maverick's Las Vegas Strip terminal.

From the sidewalk, the Strip can feel like a succession of enormous buildings. What I liked about seeing it from a helicopter was being able to take in the city as a whole. For that reason, I'd choose an after-dark flight, when the lights are the main attraction.

Maverick's Vegas Views flight currently lists about 10-12 minutes in the air. It's a short experience, but transport, check-in and the briefing add considerably to the time involved.

Two tickets don't buy a private helicopter. The operator lists up to six guests, with seats assigned at check-in for weight and balance. Adjacent or front seats should only be treated as guaranteed if the operator explicitly confirms them.

Check whether transfers are included before making dinner plans. A flexible reservation afterward is easier than trying to fit the entire outing into the advertised flight time.

  6. 6. Watch acrobatics and adult comedy at Absinthe

Choose it for: A seated date with outrageous entertainment.
Location: The tent at Caesars Palace's Green Fairy Garden.

Absinthe's comedy gets much of the attention, but the acrobatics are just as much of a reason to go. I liked how close the small tent puts you to the performers. A difficult physical feat can be followed almost immediately by an outrageous joke, which makes for a very different evening from a large theater show.

The humor is deliberately explicit, and audience interaction is part of the appeal. Both people should be comfortable with that before booking. If you enjoy raunchy comedy but don't want a thrill ride, this is a good alternative.

The official show page lists an 80-minute runtime without intermission and an age requirement of 18 or older. Advertised tickets start at $135.04 each, or $270.08 for two. The headline and lower terms use different fee wording, so confirm the checkout total.

Book neighboring seats and contact the box office for accessible or companion seating. Leave time to find the tent in Caesars Palace's Green Fairy Garden, rather than treating arrival at the hotel as arrival at the show.

  7. 7. Walk among old Vegas signs at The Neon Museum

Choose it for: An unusual evening without a ride.
Location: North of Fremont Street, in downtown Las Vegas.

The Neon Museum brings together signs from casinos, restaurants and other businesses that helped give Las Vegas its appearance. Their size is part of what makes the collection interesting. I found standing beside them much more engaging than looking at old photographs of the same buildings.

For an evening visit, Brilliant Jackpot adds projected light and sound to historic signs in the North Gallery. It is currently listed as a 45-minute add-on to Evening Admission, not an inclusion with every ticket.

Read the current visit options before choosing a time. The main collection is outdoors, weather affects programming and not every sign is restored working neon. Fine gravel covers the Boneyard, so check access guidance if either person uses a mobility device.

This combines well with Fremont Street on the same evening. Keep the museum booking fixed, allow time for the transfer and fit dinner around it.

  8. 8. Turn a little cash into a pinball tournament

Choose it for: A low-commitment, inexpensive date.
Location: 4925 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

The Pinball Hall of Fame is a good reminder that an unusual Vegas date doesn't have to cost hundreds of dollars. I like being able to play the machines rather than just read about them, and taking turns makes it easy to turn the visit into a small competition. Pick a few games neither of you knows and compare scores.

Set a shared spending limit and bring cash. The museum's official site describes coin-operated play, with individual prices varying by machine.

Allow 45-90 minutes for a relaxed visit. Use the current Las Vegas Boulevard address when arranging a ride, since older travel posts may refer to the previous location.

Three date plans that leave time to enjoy the evening

A downtown evening with one big thrill

Start with a reserved evening visit at The Neon Museum, followed by dinner downtown and SlotZilla if you both want to fly. Check the museum's program length and the ride's hours before buying tickets. This is the order I prefer because a zipline queue won't put the museum reservation at risk.

A strange afternoon and a late show

Omega Mart in the afternoon leaves time for dinner and a transfer back to the Strip before Absinthe. This is the combination I'd choose for a couple who dislikes heights but enjoys explicit comedy. Ordinary daytime Omega Mart admission suits this schedule; Night Shift is a separate event.

One expensive adventure, then an easy evening

Choose Dig This or a shared helicopter flight and let that be the main expense of the day. After something that unusual, I prefer a meal and time to talk about it to rushing through another check-in. An evening back at the hotel can be just as much a part of the date.

Before you book

  • Agree on the activity. A surprise is only useful if both people will enjoy it. Take concerns about heights, explicit comedy or machinery seriously.
  • Compare the total for two. Include transport, taxes, fees and optional photos. Read cancellation and weather terms, especially for flights and outdoor rides.
  • Ask about participation and access. Health restrictions, harness fit, mobility access and seating need attraction-specific answers.
  • Leave drinking until afterward. Follow each operator's sobriety requirements and arrange transport if you're drinking later.
  • Recheck your date. Calendars, prices and conditions change. Confirm the details on the linked operator pages before paying.

One well-chosen experience can give the whole day a focus. There is no need to turn the rest of the trip into a competition to fit in more.
